Migrated $200M+ IT System from an Organization in DoD to VA
Sprezzatura led the effort to migrate Operations and Maintenance of the GI Bill education benefits management cloud-based system from Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command to VA. This work included strategic planning, designing and facilitating interagency planning sessions, implementing VA organizational design changes, and managing process change and knowledge transfer for code maintenance and service operations activities based on the ITIL framework.
Product Launch and Web Service Development
Sprezzatura currently leads the IT effort to launch the Digits to Digits product for VA. Awarded 2015 Technical Innovation of the Year by the Commonwealth of Virginia, this is an Agile development project that orchestrates the web services of half a dozen VA legacy systems to enable Veteran Service Organizations to establish Benefits claims with VA using their own Claims Management Systems.
Technical Management Consulting for VA’s Health Product Support
Sprezzatura improved processes and communications for a VA office supporting the agency’s enterprise health software portfolio. Our team successfully provided change management, business process reengineering, financial and budget support, SharePoint administration, knowledge management, acquisition strategy, and software transition support for the organization managing legacy VistA applications.
MANAGED AN AGILE PMO OVERSEEING THE DEVELOPMENT OF SOFTWARE TO AUTOMATE GI BILL BENEFITS
Sprezzatura managed an Agile PMO supporting the development of software to automate Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits. This entailed developing processes to manage PMO activities as user stories, instituting daily scrum team meetings, and conducting weekly sprint reviews. This highly successful approach to project management was one of VA’s first uses of the Agile methodology.
